I'm only about 25% kidding when I say that I would trust neither the NY rag or pho from NY/NJ.

It's a painfully flawed sample, but I tried four or five highly recommended (by Yelp and other NYers I know) pho places in Manhattan, and they were all downright nasty. One of them tasted like they had just dumped a box of Swanson's beef broth into my bowl.
