I disagree with your assertion that the new passports are more expensive. Mine (10-year) cost me $160 per year. That's $16 per year, or less per year than the old one!
Thanks for the link. I didnīt say the new passports are more expensive than the old ones.

My question was whether thereīs a difference between the new 10 year passport and the new 5 year passport except for the higher(overall) price. And yes, of course the cost per year is lower with the 10 year passport, but thatīs of course assuming the passport will last that long.

Iīm ok with the cost, itīs the 36 page limitation that somewhat bugs me.
