Yes, you are right - I did sign up for an AM account to check availability and all the flights just showed Waitlist. I believe the amount of points needed for an F seat is 220k each which is certainly a significant amount above the 135k needed by AA. I am also in the US and am wary of transferring to Asia Miles especially since nothing is showing as available anyway, so in the meantime I am sticking to AA.
