last time I flew BE JFK-SJU-JFK we had champagne (ok, unlike TATL BE it was sparkling wine both on the ground and in the air) but it was something. I understand this route now has mojitos back as well.
Champagne must be a tricky issue for Delta as you have people who generally enjoy it and are knowledgable about it, especially vs sparkling wine. On the other hand, you have American kettles who are on the trip of a lifetime (on a 757!) and demand champagne to complete their VIP experience, yet couldn't tell you the difference between Crémant de Home Depot or Veuve. There is limited space in the carts for something that goes unused.
