I have a flight booked ealier for a trip at the end of April. I just applied for the card and linked my AAdvantage number to it.

If the benefit (free checked bags) is tied to my AAdvantage number, would I get the free checked bag?

Or do I have to cancel and reticket it for it to be eligible?

It worries me about the Booked and ticketed on or after April.
