Yes, this benefit applies to award tickets booked by the primary cardmember as long as the reservation includes the primary cardmember’s AAdvantage account number. Additionally, benefit is valid for travel booked and ticketed on or after April 2, 2012.
Regarding the free checked bag, how about partner award tickets on AA metal, e.g. AA flight using BA avios redemption? Thanks.
