After applying a GPU (and showing up correctly in "R") to an upcoming itinerary, the system gave me seats in C--but when I tried to pick seats, would only let me pick seats in F. I couldn't select from any of the other C seats despite a wide-open cabin.
The problem resolved itself after a half hour or so, but I was still scratching my head and wondering if I was going to end up with a double-upgrade (no, I didn't).
Was this issue occurring on a domestic flight on 3-cabin equipment? I ask because some itins such as SFO-ORD-CLT will only allow you to fly in E or F on a paid ticket on the 67I config SFO-ORD, and won't sell you a seat in biz cabin (the only exception I've seen is when F cabin is sold out and they'll
charge you for an A or F fare but seat you in biz).
