I do feel encouraged about keeping my AA Citi credit cards as I was about to let them go in favor of a cash back card.
Well, I asked 2 different Citi reps and got the same response from both: pre-existing cards get the priority boarding, the free bag, the 2 miles per AA $1 spent, and the 10% award mile rebate. Pre-existing cards do not get the $100 credit or the 30,000 miles. Enough for me to go on unless there's evidence to the contrary later.
I'm happy with the free bag for my kids who don't have status but want to keep flying AA and with the 2 miles per AA $1 spent and 10% award rebate for the rest of us. If it turns out the reps I spoke with were wrong, I can always cancel the cards at that point.
