Datapoints:
19Mar UA881 BOS-ORD: F purser had no manifest, and no way of knowing the status of the pax. She took food orders rear to front (757). She apologized for not being able to address us by name.
19Mar UA881 ORD-NRT: The F purser took meal orders on a blank 747 F cabin layout sheet. I don't know if they had a manifest; I didn't see one on the wall of the F galley, but it could have been somewhere else.
20Mar UA837 NRT-TPE: The F purser had a manifest, and went to the three GS pax first to take orders. (In fact, I overhead him telling another pax "I'll get back to you in a minute after I check with my Globals.") This was a 12-seat old config 777, and up until 24 hours out it was showing only 2 booked (including me in NF, I mean ON). I guess the other 10 were CPUs.
