I was in international business (Caribbean premium class). The old Elite Access area (mid level middle) is 1K and Plat to the left, gold/silver/domestic F to the right. Separate, all the way down at the end is the GS/UA INTL F area. In other airports I think that would be enough of a differentiation to make a difference, but in Newark there are a LOT of plats and I suspect (nothing to back this up) less 1Ks. I realize this may still be a work in progress, but when the dust settles on systems issues I hope
UA Insider can give us a heads up if this is permanent or temporary. I think the Premier Access bag drop would have solved my problem if that had been open, but of all days to close it yesterday was not a good choice.
