CO (really the new UA) mngt has never given a RATS REAR-END about seat assignments.
I feel your pain. 3-4 times I had seats booked for vacations...and due to a simple a/c change...IE 738 -> 738 different tail #, seats would be jostled! It is

RRIBLE about getting seats back.
Good luck...and I truly feel for you. The "you paid for transporation, not a seat" is BS in my book.
