Agree, but while the Crowne Plaza at SIN is just pretty good and overpriced, the Fairmont at YVR is spectacular. The description of "airport hotel" doesn't do it justice, it's actually one of the best overall hotels in the Vancouver area. That being said from a guy who tries not to stay at Fairmonts! (not because they're bad, but because I like getting HH/PC/SPG points)
