Seat assignments are sometimes also broken on delta.com, but not always at the same time. For my most recent outbound last week, changing my seats within in the mobile app. failed, but using delta.com worked. I already had a pre-existing seat assignment in each case.

Are you going over a free allotment? If so, the current version of the application will mark the bags as special items during the check in process. The next version of the application we are working on will allow you to pay for bags as well as specify special items.
