When seat assignments aren't working, do you happen to notice the same behavior if you were on delta.com? Also, are you trying to assign seats when you weren't assigned seats before?

Are you going over a free allotment? If so, the current version of the application will mark the bags as special items during the check in process. The next version of the application we are working on will allow you to pay for bags as well as specify special items.
