+1...for the most part.

As often as not, I'd just as soon wait for the next car. Sometimes, however, elevators are slow in coming, I'm running late, etc., so I'll "reach in". I don't consider it rude or inconsiderate....whether I'm already on or tying to get in. (And yes, I make it a point to hold the door open if I'm already on and am aware of someone else wanting to get on.)
