A tip for those outwith the 3/6 month range is to say you sent it in to them and you kept a copy, then mock up a date on your letter that was within 3 months from boarding pass date, sign it and photocopy it and there you have it , they wont need to worry about you being out of date range as you "sent it in" they just didnt receive it

I really don't think that encouraging this sort of activity is helpful to the vast majority of us who attempt to be straightforward and honest in our dealings with DC
