Assuming they can be used into norther South America, Central America or the Caribbean - which is quite possible - they'd be worth a bit more. And they aren't taking much away in exchange for them. Even if you only value them at 15K points each that would be $150ish. I think trading that for a couple $6 drinks is probably a bad investment decision.

IK it's not gonna happen. My flights booked into economy are basically split between those that I get EUA as gold, and those where I can't get an upgrade using my spouse's platinum miles.
Given that if I get any RU's the only value is likely to be gifting upgrades to those without status on popular leisure routes (EWR-MIA).
Ok - drink coupons not much (depending on how many of course)... but I don't value these at 15k miles, either, and I suspect that many of us are going to see them go unused.
