Interesting news on the slot swap front this afternoon/evening. The DoT has denied the swap plans of DL/US that would have seen B6 pick up 5 pairs from US. These are separate from the 8 pairs that were negotiated in the AA deal, but it seems that B6 needs 9 pairs to operate their proposed November 1 schedule. It will be interesting to see what happens if this cannot be resolved. I also wonder if there are really four more pairs out there looking for some utilization.
I am wondering to know why both US/DL is denied approval? So could be JetBlue will acquiring 5 more extra slots into DCA? I think B6 will have to startup more flight from DCA-TPA/PBI/JAX or even B6 will get more frequencies DCA-FLL to become second daily.
