From when one arns in 2010, if one is Platinum, one will earn 4 SWU's and receive them in 2011 (or in 2010 if one achieves PM for the first time in 2010).
Irrespective of whether a DM gets 4, 6, 10, or 1000 SWU's, does it say anywhere that we are getting anything less in early 2010 based on our 2009 flying. In fact Delta has been very adamant over the last six months that nothing was changing regarding this years flying/earning, etc.

Isn't the 2009 PM "program" the one currently in progress, 3/1/09 (or "grandfathered" qualification week achieved in 2008, if a new PM) to 2/28/10? Its benefits are 6 PMU for PM's plus the other PM benefits.
The 2010 program starting 3/1/10, is to have its benefits based on the 2009 qualifying period. The old benefit table would be thus be moot, would it not? If you are an "old" PM for the 2009 medallion program year, then requalifying for PM2010 is not a "status change" as put in the Insider's post (#540), so no "immediate promotion" Choice Benefit would apply. Seems you would get only the new PM 2010 benefit, or the new DM 2010 benefits, to enjoy starting 3/1/2010.
If you requalified for PM "early" during 2009, say by June, did they already give you PMU's? That would seem to me the only way to end up with 12 (6 old, 6 new) if you hit 125K during 2009.
For someone starting from below PM in 2010, the described process seems very clear-- PM "status change" benefit on hitting 75K, and two DM "status change" benefits on hitting 125K during 2010. Same for a PM who first hits 125K during 2010; they would have started 3/1/10 with one benefit and then qualify for two "status change" ones.
What happened to someone who started below PM in 2009? If they hit 75K during 2009, do/did they get immmediate promotion to current PM with a grandfathered 2009 allotment of 6 old-style PMU? That would be another way to have 6 old and end up with 6 new if going on to 125K during 2009..
or, is there a further issue I am missing, in that DM will not be ready for prime-time by the time the 2010 year starts on 3/1/10? in that case, a one-time treatment of "PM's moving up to DM" scenario could ensue, resulting in the "10 new" SWU outcome, since every PM having 125K 2009 MQM's would experience a status change sometime after 3/1/10..
