We're compensated well enough that we don't expect tips. Please don't feel obligated. Personally, I think the tipping thing has gotten out of hand and it's nice knowing that the plane is ONE place where you don't have to feel like a dirtbag for not tipping. Now, if you really WANT to give a tip to your FA for whatever reason, policy allows us to accept it if you "insist".
That being said, I tend to agree with Mr. Pink's diatribe on tipping in the first ten minutes of Reservoir Dogs. I know, a little cold, but you know you feel the same way.
The tipping culture in this country has gone completely out of control. I have even seen convenience stores recently where the employees have a tip jar out (and no, such employees do not provide any sort of food service).
