I have already booked the ticket, and we are within 24 hours, so I could cancel and reissue, but if it isn't going to be a problem, I won't bother.
I'm not sure about boarding the plane, but a friend named William (who booked his ticket using that name so it would match government-issued ID) was not collecting miles until he changed his mileage account from Bill.
