Fly Business Class to Bangkok for Less Than $2,000

Flyers looking to collect United Premier qualifying points or want a spring 2020 getaway can snag a great deal to Bangkok aboard Air China. FlyerTalkers found a round-trip ticket from New York to Thailand for less than $2,000 per flyer, available through online travel agencies.

If you’re looking for an easy way to jumpstart your United MileagePlus Premier status run, FlyerTalkers may have found a great deal for you. On the forums, FlyerTalker 1984SW discovered a round-trip run from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Bangkok Airport (BKK) for as low as $1,983.

The Premier Points of the Deal

In an example uncovered by 1984SW, a five-day itinerary would depart from John F. Kennedy International Airport, stop at Beijing Capital Airport (PEK), before continuing on to Bangkok airport. The return would also include a stop at Beijing Capital Airport.

Another FlyerTalker, cheltzel, also found similar flights departing from United Airlines’ hub Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). In both situations, tickets must be booked at least 28 days before departure and the fare may expire on Dec. 12, 2019. As with all fares, this is subject to change based on multiple factors.

If done correctly, flyers can potentially net a high number of United MileagePlus Premier qualifying points towards qualifying for elite status in 2021. Based on the price, flyers can net up to 4,448 MileagePlus Premier qualifying points from the round trip – nearly the full amount required to qualify for Premier Silver status.

Tip: Spend More Than One Night in Bangkok

Known as the “City of Angels,” the Thai capital offers a mix of eastern charm and modern influence. In addition to the Grand Palace, Bangkok is known for its many religious shrines living alongside a bustling nightlife.

FlyerTalkers recommend those visiting the city take their time exploring, as there’s too much to see in one trip. Some of the highlights include visiting the Chatuchak weekend market, or seeing the city by water in a regularly operating tourist boat.
