christmas eve dinner in downtown...
does anyone have any suggestions for a good spot for a traditional christmas (eve) dinner for the evening of christmas eve? i was thinking a hotel might be a good spot, but any ideas are welcome...

i would consider blue duck tavern. they do lots of roasts and the like. it is quiet, and service is pretty good.
another place to consider is the Tabor Inn. they have a fireplace. their christmas eve menu is posted.
1789 is also great, as mentioned below. i usually just do 2nd courses there.

Although not quite downtown I would take a look at 1789 in Georgetown.

Blue Duck is also quite good but I have never done X-mas eve dinner there.

I've already mentioned the Peking Gourmet Inn in another Christmas-in-DC related thread, but I know a few people who've made it their Christmas eve or Christmas day tradition.
