So in you'd pay $109.25 for the $100 item in Chicago and $100 for it in New Jersey.
This example is relavant to see that clothing price after tax is indeed lower in these tax free states.
Many thanks for this information.

These are the five US states with no sales tax on any merchandise: Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, Oregon. Other states may exempt specific items such as clothing or food, but charge tax on most other things.

What about shopping near PIT airport?
Can anybody give any insight on it? I saw there is public transport available to a nearby plaza with a TJ Maxx and Marshalls.

Thanks

You can also get to Horton Plaza (shopping mall) from SAN via a ~15 minute bus ride: http://tinyurl.com/lxzknaz

I need to say that finally I gave a try to PIT.
Public transport to nearby shopping mall very efficient and cheap, and no sales tax on clothing and shoes.^
