N104UA looks like it's flying an extra section today LHR-SFO as UA2707. I would suspect that mx is the real reason the flight canceled and someone just messed up typing it into the system

HKG-SIN continuing to struggle this week after earlier cancellation on Monday.
Wednesday left 30 min late, sat on taxiway for a while, captain announced return to gate due to maintenance, then the problem cleared up on taxi back to gate so we looped around and took off. I guess "only" an hour late isn't bad. But flight was packed--saw at least 20 new BPs at gate stand, op-ups galore I'd guess.

UA 895 June 21 +57 Maintenance
UA 895 June 22 already showing +75 (Unknown reason)

YVR-SFO UA 618 Aircraft: Airbus A320 aircraft #4623

Schedule for 6am
Awoke at 4am to go to Airport and phone said delay till 10pm. I jumped on AC flight at 6:20am for SFO - plane was half full

When we landed in SFO the new projected time was 3pm and the seat map was EMPTY - I assume the rebooked everyone to somewhere

UA78 ICN-NRT delayed due to aircraft maintenance, what really happened is a seal broke in the cockpit on climbout and they had to return to the airport. Since they landed overweight they now need an inspection. 3 hrs delayed as of now.

My parents are on the flight right now, and they've already missed their connection in NRT. FA won't let anyone deplane even though plane is at the gate. This strands my parents in NRT overnight. Both are quite older so an overnight in Japan, for them, makes them really nervous. Can't believe the FA won't let them deplane as they can rebook and make it home same day out of ICN.

Edit: ended up being a 2.5 hour delay. Definitely missed their connection, I called 1K desk to have them look at their reservation and she assured me that they would receive a hotel voucher - I hope that ends up being the case.

final edit: hotel, food vouchers, and rebooked flights were ready on their arrival. I'm glad they were take care of. The only bummer at this point is they were originally booked Y+ on a 787 and they're now on the 77W in middle seats. Really feel for them...

UA91 TLV to EWR cancelled due to aircraft maintenance (Seems like the inbound flight made it on time though). Aircraft is UA's brand new 777-300ER.
Flight ended up leaving 14 hours after original departure time with a new flight number (ua2712) and a nearly empty cabin.

UA1173

what happened to UA1173 yesterday? (SJU-EWR). The plane left four hours late and flew to ORD which doesn't make any sense. Once at ORD they switched from the 764 (N77066) to a 763 (N655UA). They eventually got to EWR eight hours late. Any reason why they would go to ORD instead of EWR?

UA83 DEL-EWR 6/24/17 left many hours late and diverted to YUL for crew time out. Took them several more hours to position a replacement crew and complete the flight.

wow, poor planning. Soooo close and getting a full 772 crew to YUL ... instead of e.g. PWM/BOS/ORD ... wow.

also from last night

UA57 EWR-CDG 764 returned to gate and cancelled due to aircraft maintenance

therefore today's

UA56 CDG-EWR 764 cancelled due to aircraft maintenance

Agreed. The diverted EWR-YUL flight took 13:20 in flight time (gate to gate) and the normal scheduled time is 14:00. I confess that I know nothing of the regulations and labor agreements involved. But to have to deal with all the costs and logistics of getting another crew to YUL, etc is nuts to avoid an additional 30 - 40 minutes of flight time.

Anyone know what happened with 803 (IAD-NRT) yesterday. Diverted to ORD after being up over Ontario, originally posting just an hour on the ground, which made me think medical. It ultimately took 3 hours to get out again, which suggests some mechanical issue. Ultimately made it to NRT 5:45 late. Was anyone on that flight?
