Consolidated "Delayed/Cancelled" International Flights (2014)
UA29 delayed until 8:40pm for an aircraft change.
Inbound flight was UA85, any word on what happened? Aircraft was supposed to be N78001 but is going to be N78017.
Interesting note: flightaware shows UA85 flying over more land, taking a less direct route for the trans Atlantic portion as compared to other flights, which probably explains the delay, but what would cause such a deviation?

It seems to be late quite a lot. I don't understand as it's a Noon departure, very un busy time for departures at EWR and the bird is usually sitting at EWR as it comes in from TLV very early in the am.

Thanks, .bomb now shows a second FRA-SFO operated today, sched dep 9h00 a.m. Incidentially, it was wide open in all classes.

UA 895 ORD-HKG-SIN cancelled. Any info?
I was supposed to catch UA895 from hkg-sin but the gate people in hkg said that the flight had been cancelled out of ORD but had no idea why.
Do any of y'all know what happened and what sort of compensation should i expect from ua for a 4 hour delay. I was also on an R fare on UA but only Y on CX. Will they do something on the GPU?

Looks like a mechanical issue in Chicago - it left the gate at 1:12pm (7 minutes late) and returned to the gate at 4:52pm - can't tell why...
Flightaware shows that the flight took off at 1:42pm but then was diverted back to ORD and landed at 4:11 - so definitely mechanical... You should get the GPU redepsoited if that was the only segment you used it on - and not sure of any compensation - just be glad they put you on CX and its a short(er) flight.

on 896 Friday 17th HKG - ORD and flight was already basically 100% - Should be interesting to see how they get people rebooked - everything is near full load out of HKG this week as far as I can tell.

FLT 89 hits severe turbulence returns to EWR
FLT 89 EWR - PEK returned to EWR this afternoon after hitting severe turbulence. Five crew members received minor injuries. Aircraft was offloaded and passengers moved to another flight.
