1K Member higher Rental Car status?

Do UA 1K members obtain higher status with Avis/Hertz due to 1K membership?

Technically true. But from from time-to-time, UA and Hertz have had a promo for 1Ks: 5 Star membership in Gold Rewards. 5* isn't worth much at all. So wouldn't hold on for that!

As a 1K member can I get complimentary elite status on any car rental/hotel loyalty program?

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unite...wardsplus.html is new; otherwise no changes since your previous inquiry.

In addition to RewardsPlus and the direct Marriott Gold status, in recent years many members have automatically received:
  • Hertz Gold Five Star
  • National Emerald
  • Hilton Gold (though with the RewardsPlus program, Hilton may rethink that)
  • Starwood Gold

There are probably others to mention... however, all of the above were granted by the partner from lists UA presumably shared with them--you couldn't just go and sign up with one and ask for that status.

I recently was invited to Avis First. Interesting because I have United Presidential Plus card, not MileagePlus Club. But whatever.
