Re-qualified

Contacted United today and learned that I re-qualified for GS for 2013. On United my total spend was $47K and 167K PQM. Hope this is helpful.

I thought GS also meant you get 1K benefits as well?

Some UA people were telling me that for 2013, GS would not earn the GPUs unless 100k PQM were hit, but I took that info with a grain of salt.

Maybe they'll show up in a few days.

Next up will be soft landings - those that didn't requal for GS, and didn't hit 100k PQM - wondering if they receive a 1K soft landing like previous years. I heard no to that too, but again, I'm taking that with a grain of salt.

I called Global Services to ask if my 2013 membership was renewed and the agent said their screens don't show that information, so she put me on hold while she called over to check with Mileage Plus. Yes, I was renewed. For 2012 my PQM was 188,202, PQS 134, total spend $65K, lifetime miles 1,881,541. I have a UA affiliated Chase credit card.

2011 year-end GPUs didn't deposit until January 12, 2012 for this PMCO flyer, so there is still the possibility you will be awarded GPUs. No guarantee, of course, but I would not assume that just because it is one day after January 1 that you for sure won't get them. I crossed a milestone on December 30, 2012 as well and have not yet received the additional two RPUs due for that threshhold. If I don't receive them by January 15 then I will call.

For me, I was 201,306 PQMs with a spend well above $125K, mostly all in domestic F, BF and a few Global First.

Everyone who works for me that spent over $50K and flew over 125K PQM, regardless of class, fare bucket, etc., were renewed for Global Services (5 people total - all GS last year). They pretty much fly exclusively BusinessFirst, not always full fare - they go for whatever is cheapest.

My analyst who flew 130K miles, half business, half (mostly) full fare economy did not make it. His spend was $40K-something.

Like others above me in this thread, I have received my GS renewal materials in the mail today. My spend was near $90K and my EQMs were 165,000.

Right. I did not qualify, and almost all my spend was on Z fares. And given my company's insistence that I use these deep-discounted fares, I doubt that I will ever qualify.

If you spent 60k in z class you would qualify.

They do. Benefits. GPUs are earned by flying PQMs-- they are not a 1K benefit (like 6 annual ones were before unlimited earning).

Porbably.

This year, they seem to be going on total revenue unlike all the fuzzy factors in years past.
