Status/Discussion of UA's DEN-NRT Service

Just saw on 9News this evening - they believe United will announce DEN-NRT nonstop at a news conference scheduled for tomorrow morning.

As this isn't a PMCO base this is not a change I like

On a more serious note I wonder what AC they'll be using. The 767-300ER could barely handle it so I'd imagine a 772.

I wonder which 777 will be running this route?

That would be very suprising. Future 787 route or possible ANA 787?

With the 737s moving to DEN, there is a chance this might be a sCO route.

If this is true...I'm a happy man. Let's hope it fares better than DEN-LHR and without the seasonal shenanigans (not serving one of the worlds biggest ski resort gateways in winter...great choice that was).

5787 miles according to Great Circle Mapper.

ORD-NRT is 6274 mi.
SFO-NRT is 5132 mi.

I vote for the 772...although we certainly have had 744s ex-DEN in the past...

Could this mean the end of SEA-NRT, esp since ANA is starting that route soon with the 787?

I am going to bet that it is ANA with a 787.

Bingo, they've already got ATI with NH TPAC, so they get the money either way.

It could very well be going to sCO as DEN is one of the bases sCO is opening up for FAs. I can see it going 772 as well.

starting out with a PMCO 772 wouldn't be a bad idea. the BF and Y product are probably easier to sell than a 3 class product and see what the route loads will be. If they're good high premium fares it can be stepped up but downgrades are typically a pain.

You're all wrong, as DEN is becoming a sCO base, it's going to be operated with a pmCO 757 with winglets.
