leaving baggage at hotel before/after checkout

Do hotels in London typically allow guests to leave a large suitcase a day or two before checkin? or a day or two after departing? How much tip would be right for the bellman if he agrees?
Thanks

A day or two might be pushing it. I'd contact the hotel now.

However, there are left luggage places in all the main railways stations, so its not difficult to find somewhere to leave it.

For standard luggage storage, no tip is expected.

Phone (not email) the hotel to ask. If it's at the more luxury end you should be fine.

Otherwise, as stut says, there are left luggage facilities at stations which cost around £10 per item per day.
