Do you leave beer in the hotel when you check out?

Four dollars is a princely tip? Welcome from your sojourn in the forest

I've left beer in the hotel room 'fridge a few times. Sometimes I buy beer at a grocery store during a trip and don't drink as much as I expected. If I can bring it home, I will. But if there's no room in my bag or I'm flying and don't want to check a bag, I'll leave it behind.

When I do leave booze behind, it is not a tip. I know the staff may not drink, or they may be obeying strict hotel rules against taking items left behind, or they may simply not trust food items left behind by guests even if they are sealed beer bottles. If they do take it, great. I hope they do & enjoy it. But I always assume it may simply be thrown in the trash.

I always leave behind. When I have an extended stay at a hotel (two weeks or more) I'll buy several bottles of liquor, mixers, shakers, glasses, appetizers etc and have no idea nor could care less what happens to it all once I check out.

I have on occasion if I cannot bring it back with me, but as others have said I don't view it as a tip. I'm just letting someone else determine how it is disposed of, I hope it will be done in a enjoyable manner.

I usually leave fruits behind me. They are better than beer, I guess.

Someone left us almost 2 six packs of beers on a dirty room service cart waiting to be returned in the hallway of the MGM Grand once.

You can sometimes find remains of smokeable marijuana in odd hiding places in hotels. A legacy of the 60s sharing culture I guess.

That is scary ! What if the authorities discover the stash when you are the registered guest ?

Almost every time because wife gets pissed if I finish them all.

I left a can of Diet Coke in my hotel room last Friday. Had just had breakfast and was catching the Heathrow Express and then checking in and flying home.

If I have an unopened beverage I'll leave it for someone to claim. Last visit to A'dam for Queen's Day I left a couple of nice sticky tops on a crisp Andrew Jackson.

I found a bag of what appeared to be marijuana in my hotel room desk drawer in Sydney a few years ago.

I called the concierge and he arranged soemone to come and collect it.

The manager took it rather hastily. Party time I guess.
