I don't keep track of the planes I am on, so I have no idea, nor particularly do I want to know, if any of them have been in any kind of incident.

As an aside, I did happen to see that balloon that hit the power wires a few weeks ago. I was driving down the highway at the time and watched it briefly, this was while it was still a good town or two away. Didn't think anything of it until I read the next morning that it had hit power lines trying to land.

Flew on the doomed Dana Air MD-83 that crashed in Nigeria when it still operated for Alaska Airlines from SEA-DEN. Got a great shot of the tail number (N944AS) and didn't realize it was the same plane 'til about a year back.

the same flight is a lot more likely than the same aircraft ...

Ever been on a doomed plane?

I've flown plenty of MH 777-200 over the years on different routes so chances I've been on one of the ones that sadly crashed. I did try going through my flight records but time consuming to work out.

Not really a doomed plane or flight but I was on EK237 DXB-BOS on 17 July 2014, the day when MH17 AMS-KUL crashed. EK237 was scheduled to fly very close to MH17's crash site and the crash occurred an hour from landing.

With all due respect, it would have been REALLY nice to state that BA038_Passenger survived. Not everyone memorizes every flight number that's had an incident..

In any case, I'm glad my search showed that BA038_Passenger is still an active member. ^

I was on B-18255 at least once when I was a child doing a TPE-HKG hop in 1998. One of the photos I took of the plane shows this registration number

B-18255 is otherwise as known as China Airlines 611, which broke up in midair, en route to HKG from TPE in 2002 due to incorrectly executed maintenance causing fatigue in the airframe. When I did realize it, I was spooked. It is disturbing that I was sitting on an incorrectly repaired airframe but I don't really think much of it anymore.

that would have been some coincidence if they had chosen that username and then later crashed on it

I've flown probably 1,000-ish total lifetime flights, so I have to wonder. I don't track tail numbers.

In the '90's, I did a few straight years of AA Plat and then a couple as a UA 1P and then 1K. I felt like I was on every 757 the two of them owned, but who really knows...
