Preferably for free!

Whereas Delta Airlines used to provide a page to enter data that used timaticweb (web-based version of Timatic), they no longer do.

Nonetheless, you can use this form provided by United Airlines to derive the same information, also from timaticweb.

Star Alliance provides a similar webform here, using IATA Netherlands.

The *A form is much more complete. The UA form is correct as far as it goes, but fails to ask all of the questions which might make a difference.

New FTer here, well not entirely since I've been browsing for quite a while ! I wish my first post wasn't worth 240€ but hey, maybe this will be the start of a great love story Which brings me to my question, how reliable is Timatic ?

I am leaving for Brazil on Saturday, I checked the passport requirements several weeks ago on *A's online Timatic, and here's what it said :

National Belgium (BE) /Embarkation France (FR)
Destination Brazil (BR)

Passport required.
- Passports and/or passport replacing documents must be valid
for the period of intended stay.

So, I had my answer and was happy about it until today, I guess I had some kind of epiphany that ordered me to second check this, and that led me to see on various websites that the passport must actually be valid for 6 months after you enter the territory. I tried to believe it were the various websites that were wrong, so I contacted the Brazilian Consulate, which confirmed that indeed, the 6 months rule is still in use.

I'm glad I checked, less glad about the express passport delivery I'm gonna have to pay for, but I guess it's better than being denied entry

Has anyone else experienced something like this ? And how come the source of documentation requirements used by airlines pretty much everywhere has truck-sized mistakes like this ?

Is free access to the TIMATIC database that the airlines use.

This is what they will(should?) look at when deciding about letting you on the plane.

TIMATIC is actually a proprietary database maintained by IATA. The carriers use a version available to them through whatever GDS they use. The carriers effectively pay for TIMATIC through IATA dues.

All that matters is that you are looking at a system which draws from TIMATIC so that you can see what the carrier will see.
