Rode the 787 today as TG404 SIN-BKK in C
brand spanking new of course
didn't like the shoulder sash seat belt felt like it was choking me
windows are far from the seat, at least in14B
meal table was nice simple action and you can push it away still set to get up.
controls for seat are hard to read and access
IFE felt a bit slow and clunky plenty of choice
also seems to be a lot of dead space in the window seats, small elastised rack, I assumed was for glasses, worked well

There are few brand news B77W, normally used on TG404/403 and TG410/409

I just notice the first B787 service is on 25-Jul. I hope my TG404 on 26-Jul will be TG-ed into B787

Just saw a tweet from TG saying that they have further delayed 787 service to MNL due to "flight testing". Interesting, there are no TG flights showing at all from BKK-MNL for the week following 8 August, when they had originally announced commencement of the service.
They do still show 787 service to CNX commencing 25 July onwards.

This way you won't cancel your flight before it takes off.

TG doesn't allow for advance seat selection on domestic flights. You can only do that commencing 24 hours before flight time, with online check-in.

Well my Oct 15th 2015 NRT-BKK business flight changed from the 787 to the A330...
Not sure what that means for the route, anyone thing it'll change back by then, I really wanted to try this plane!!

As of now, the 787 is set to start flying the BKK-NRT-BKK route on Oct 26th. I wouldn't get my hopes up of it starting any sooner. Thai have reduced frequency on a lot of their routes due to financial performance and lower bookings. NRT used to be served 4 times a day. It's currently down to only 2 flights a day. Starting Oct 26th (when the 787 is introduced on the route) it's back to 3 flights. Plus, this is a new aircraft for them. So if anything, the 787 is more likely to get pushed back further rather than start flying sooner.
But remember that this is Thai we're talking about. How many times have they changed their mind about flying the 787 to MNL?
