Thai 787
Looks like first routes are HND and PER.

I think they have a new config of biz? Still staggered 1-2-1 but the design is more like new f on 787.

I'm curious about economy. UA has their 787-8s configured for 219 (36/183) And they are using 9-across seating.
THAI's configuration in this article is said to be 264 seats (24/240). Is THAI really getting 45 more seats in this airplane than United has in theirs?

3-3-3 for Y
Just 4 rows for Biz, leaving more space for Y
I would too, but unfortunately, that's not gonna happen!

"It's very likely that we’ll have a first class cabin in the 787-9" says Frank van der Post, BA’s Managing Director of Brands and Customer Experience. "It may not be a full cabin of 12 to 14 seats, it will be a little bit smaller."
"But there is an option for us to convert some of the 787-9 orders to 787-10s, and first class makes sense in the -10" van der Post told Australian Business Traveller.
"We have a lot of long distance flights to premium destinations where we need a four-class configuration, and the -10 gets a lot closer to the capacity of the Boeing 747."

I'd expect that Thai may well squeeze a compact F cabin into its -9. China Southern's done this in its -8, only four seats but they're their for the top end of the market, and especially useful for passengers booking two-flight trips where one leg has F, they'd want the other to have that as well.

But everything points to this being the same 1-2-1 staggered EADS Sogerma 'Solstys' as already seen on the B777 and A380 would be in order. That's what PriestmanGoode has been working on and the company has also said their project will be fitted to Thai's 787s and A350s. Going 2-2-2 would be a retrograde step and totally blow Thai's efforts at product consistency.

You mean the 787-9..? Yes, that's on the cards. From my interview with BA's product guy at their 787 launch last year:

While there and working with my reservations, I noted that my return reservation had it's seat assignment dropped. I later discovered the reason why: THAI decided sometime in December (after seats had already been sold and assigned) to downgrade the LAX route to a 777-200ER from mid-January through the end of March.
I rode back to LAX in that angled not-quite-flat seat. I feel like THAI owes me something for this bait-and-switch tactic.
The obvious answer is that if they want to interchange the 777-200ER's and 300ERs, they need to upgrade the -200ER's business seating to the current, staggered lay-flat product.
It's a poor way of doing business to advertise the staggered lay-flat product on the localized website and Facebook, then pull the rug out from under customers and claim "It's still business class . . ." Shameful!

Hmm, I was actually wondering more about the HND-BKK flight - don't seem to see that coming up as available for any award seats, so I was curious as to whether it's been loaded into the system yet (and there's just no availability), or if I just need to wait a bit longer.
