Forum and FT Structure Issues: add new, modify, delete, etc.

NOTE: These are often in the purview of the annually elected FlyerTalk member representatives, and may be better asked in the TalkBoard Topics Forum here. You may want to check there first for appropriateness if you have a suggestion or recommendation for FT structure or any forum changes.

I'd like to propose a ban on direct links in the MS forum

Especially in regards to posts like this:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/manuf...ds-online.html

Unless I'm mistaken, the link posted here (https://www.metabank.com/personal/cards) is easily traceable back to this forum. I.e., the deal surfaces, metabank notices a spike in traffic, traffic is traced to users of flyertalk.com/forum/manufacturedspend, deal is shut down. If links are coded, e.g.:

Code:
https://www.metabank.com/personal/cards
Then they are still available to flyertalk members but are untraceable as traffic. I got the idea from software pirating forums that generally enforce this same rule. Thoughts?

Maybe this is something that should be proposed directly to the sub-forum itself apparently...

Changing the title of a forum

Who am I to contact to ask for the title of a forum to be changed? I am asking about the "Russian-based airlines" forum which does not seem to have a moderator.

Thanks,

The correct place to bring it up would be the Talkboard Topics forum, but just so you are aware, there was a change made a couple of years ago by the Community Director to standardize the location-specific airline forums to "x-based Airlines", so if the name of "Russia-based Airlines" is changed, it would also need to change "India-based Airlines" and "Hawaii-based Airlines". See here for relevant discussion around the change that occurred: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/talkb...-programs.html

Edit to add: I just noticed you are from the Ukraine, which leads me to believe you are not wanting to change the "-based Airlines" part of the name, but rather the "Russia" part. That might be doable, but see here for the discussion that took place regarding the naming of the forum: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/talkb...cis-forum.html

Thanks for pointing me to the right direction lo2e!

Yes, it is the "Russia" part that I want to change.

Suggesting new forum topic

Hi

I would like to suggest having a forum to discuss Digital user experience with travel.
Meaning: anything and everything around online travel research/booking/inspiration ...

Allowing the community members to raise complaints, opinions, praises and suggestions around anything a traveller might experience before during and after travel but in the digital world relating to it: websites,apps.. mobile apps, airport digital experience... etc etc.

What do you think? Any supporters?

Welcome to Flyertalk.

Suggestions of new fora are best presented to the FlyerTalk TalkBoard here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/talkboard-topics-382 for their consideration and discussion, rather than brought up in Technical Support and Feedback.

There, you will see this thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/talkb...onsidered.html, which suggests how these suggestions are best presented.

Where do we request that a new forum be created?

I'd like to suggest a new forum that has to do with JetSmarter.

Who would the contact person be?

I don't have anything to do with the company, but I'm a member of it and have found several members on different forums.

Thanks,

Steve

IIRC there's already a thread in TBT discussing exactly this issue.
