Why is there not a ''worst program'' category in FlyerTalk awards?
I have always wondered with the Freddies, and now with the FlyerTalk awards vote, why there is not a ''worst program'' category. To me, it seems that we should offer the airlines both the carrot and the stick in seeking to encourage them to improve, not disembowel programs. We are burying our heads in the sand if we think everything these days is positive with ff changes.

In what awards ceremony is there a "worst" category, other than a satirical one? Awards are to bestow kudos for good behavior. Not punish bad behavior.

I'd also add that TB has nothing to do w/ the Flyertalk Awards. The owners of Flyertalk, Internet Brands, have created the awards & solicited input in the various forums for some of the categories.
Cheers.

I'd be down with a miles and points program version of the Razzies.
A great idea for some motivated FTer! ^
- Biggest devaluation in mile/point value
- Biggest devaluation of elite benefits
- Biggest elimination or reduction of awards
- Program with most difficult to obtain awards (split into free travel/nights and upgrades!)
- Worst overall program
That would be fun!

As history has shown, its pretty easy to set up an award scheme and claim to represent the people that have spoken. So gather some friends and do it yourself @:-)! No need to move TB to change the FTAs.

That's a little bit "cart before the horse" actually; we do produce the Awards, but on the request of the FT community

Great idea. If the official vote does not include these categories, then an unofficial one might at least fill the gap. Given the negative trend in ff programs, the stick is really needed more than the carrot these days.
It might help if FT would release the whole rankings of results from top to bottom, instead of just the top ones. That would accomplish the same thing of showing who is on the bottom. That info really needs to get out there.

FT "Razzies" is an awkward proposition for IB, for the same reason that Facebook doesn't have a "dislike" button. There's no way to monetize sponsorships from that! That said, if there was any justice in the world, both certainly would exist. ^

BTW is anyone shocked at the results? YQ infested AC is #2 and Skypesos is #3? Above UA?
I agree with the OP especially after the recent merger. I remember the WSJ ranking if DL and the bad press it generated.
