Just as an fyi for FTers....

Evidently implementing the renaming of the forums is a bigger task than was envisioned, to make sure that the links don't break. The CommunityDirector let IB know when it was posted the motion had enough votes to pass, so they're working on it but it will be a few weeks yet before the changes are finished.

Cheers.

Was there some emergency that this member did not vote? Don't you have a voting period that lasts over several days? Looks like his last post on the public forum was 2 months ago.

Perhaps such very personal questions should be addressed privately to the member?

I prefer to have my discussions with the Talk Board members on the public forum. I'd like the member to explain to all of us why he did not vote. How can you represent the membership by not voting?

tom911, for what it's worth I intend to see that the current TalkBoard does not drop this problem into the lap of the new TalkBoard. Please hold your fire for a week or so. You are not the first one to notice. Not by a long shot. But as you know, TalkBoard can a while to produce visible results.

Simply asking "Why didn't you vote is one thing." But inferring a problem with and requesting details about someone's personal life are another.

I did not ask for any personal details. I asked if there was an emergency that precluded the member from voting. I think you're reading something into my post that is not there.

Perhaps you might want to edit it, then.

Now that this is done, can the Middle East forum be redone, so that there's one forum for the Middle East instead of a forum for "Middle East and Egypt" (as if Egypt wasn't in the ME) with no ability to post, but just a subforum for the ME

It's in the midst of being implemented. I think 8 of the airline forums have the change so far. There's a lot of behind the scenes work to make sure that links don't break, so it's being done one forum at a time.

Cheers.

Interesting - I hadn't noticed that until now, but in the "Forum Jump" dropdown menu, you can now see a bunch having already been renamed
