Sure:

http://www.tui.com/hotels/the-westin...elinformation/

Try May 1-3 for 81€ per night (inclusive of tax) vs. $138 directly booked as an example.

Since nobody answered my question, I think it's my turn to come back after staying there. All in all we had an extremely nice stay at the Westin Lake Las Vegas, and apart from the now defunct Club-lounge, the experience was on-par with the Hyatt experience we had about a decade ago.

Several days prior to our arrival I noticed that both rooms I had booked had been upgraded from Classic to Premium rooms with a Lake View (hotel had been sold out several weeks ahead of our stay, so I though that was a nice upgrade) and on arrival got two rooms on the same floor a few rooms apart, fully respecting our "close to, but not directly near" request. Room itself was Ok but obviously not renovated for quite some time, so wear and tear showed on several spots. Still the bed was good, and we had a decent view of the lake from our room, however not balcony as the room-description suggests.

Also Elite-breakfast was now a full buffet with made to order eggs and extremely tasty apple-crepes on one morning. Given the $19.95 charge the buffet normally carries this is a very good value in lieu of 500 points....

Finally the last evening we were there we settled for some relaxation on the beach of Lake Las Vegas, and within minutes to staff members showed up, claiming they noticed us sitting near the fireplace and asking us if we liked this to be lit. After confirming this they started a really nice fire and we really had a blast that evening - eventually being joined by other guests noticing this premier location...

All in all, an almost perfect stay (some decuctions due to the Hyatt-Lounge no longer being operated and the fact that renovations are due) making us fully achieve the purpose of this weekend-breakout.

Regards,

Dirk

Bad Experience

The property is very good as highlighted in previous posts but I am having very bad experience with customer service.

We reserved two rooms on points for one night here and requested adjacent rooms. We were provided adjacent rooms but one room had smoke smell in and we immediately informed front desk. They offered us to change one room but didn't have adjacent rooms available. We declined and ask them to spray the room to remove the smell.

While checking out, front desk asked about the stay and apologized for the issue. They mentioned that they would waive off the resort fee for both the rooms for inconvenience (around ~30$ per room or total of ~60$). I was fine with resolution and asked for receipt. The representative mentioned that my total is zero dollars and I declined the receipt after that.

Two days later, the resort fee shows up on my credit card. I called up the hotel and front desk didn't have any notes on my reservation. They asked me to get in touch with accounting and accounting person was very impolite. They shuttled me back and forth between front desk and accounting and I finally gave up.

Looking to get thoughts of forum what should be my next steps and if this is good area for lurkers to help?

Open a CS file. That way it will go to the right person. I'd rather communicate via email rather than by phone.

Question update/contact

I am interested in reviews from more recent stays? My questions............

1. Shuttle operates 5/x per day, last departure from Strip is 11:45 pm. Experience?

2. The SPG lounge is closed - any insights if this is permanent?

3. Does the resort charge for parking?

4. Does the resort waive the resort fees for Plats?

Also, if any FTs have a contact @ the property, please PM me, thx.

an update and many red flags

The silence in response to my queries was stunning. Now I am at the property, I see why.............

1. The shuttle is a huge disappointment. There are only 14 seats & all the space was reserved when I checked in for a 2-night stay. Call in advance I was told - if you want to ride the shuttle to the Westin Casaurina. I have a better idea - stay in LV!

2. No lounge and no prospects for one either. This is a wedding/family property and they have no interest in attracting biz. clients.

3/4. The Assistant General Manager says we don't ever waive the resort fee for Plats. Ironic since they offered me a comp upgrade to valet parking (a joke) and every casino on the Strip offers free parking! Why stay in Henderson?

I also checked the history of the property. Yes, it was a Loews prior to 2012, but what has not been posted is it was bought by Pyramid out of foreclosure:

Not exactly good news to know the hotel failed and then Starwood took over.

Any recent stay reports here? I have a 4 night stay coming up (which will probably be my Lifetime Platinum threshold) during a trade show event in town where every hotel seems to be sold out or $400++, while this properly is just over $100 for my corp rate (a bargain even before the resort fee).

From prior review, I am assuming I will receive:

1. a choice of buffet breakfast OR points, but not both (I will take the points and have my buffet on the strip, thank you)
2. a loud scoff and eye roll when I ask for the resort fee to be waived, since I'm not using any of the amenities at all aside from the bed and bathroom
3. probably no upgrade to anything nicer than a "lake" view
4. somewhat worn furnishings/decor
5. a 'nothing special' feeling during my stay

Anything else I should look out for?

1. The buffet is definitely above average, especially with the made-to-order omelettes. All else being equal, a far better deal than the points especially since it's four buffets over the course of four nights.

2. Expect to pay 1/2 the resort fee. I've had very inconsistent resort-fee experience at the sister property (Causarina); sometimes it's been waived, sometimes not.

3. Mixed results on room upgrades. At the price point you mention, the property is likely at low capacity and you should have good luck.

4. No complaints.

5. I like to stay at this property because it's off-strip and lakeside. It's like being on vacation when I'm on vacation given it's ambiance and location. There's a nice sushi restaurant on-site. Based on your comments and questions and expectations, I don't think it would be a good fit for you.

Trade show? I've always been able to find cheap hotels near the convention center. My favorite is the Westin. Not a very good property, but small and convenient. Last time I got a great rate by checking in the day before the conference. Play around with dates.

This property is a 30 min drive to the strip and probably longer if you're going to the convention center. I wouldn't stay here.

So my experience here was not so bad....some thoughts:

1. was upgraded to a lake view room (the lake is more like a pond, but that's not the hotel's fault). The rooms are somewhat dated and well-worn, and have this odd 'Sahara' motif that was a hallmark of the old Aladdin hotel when it joined SPG years back

2. was offered both points and buffet breakfast as a platinum. Only had time to use the breakfast one morning, and found it to be pretty decent, but nothing to get too excited over - custom omelet and waffle station, some fruit, the usual hot items

3. resort fee - apparently the "official policy" is the hotel will refund 50% of the resort fee to Platinum guests, although when I checked in and explained I would not be using the resort facilities at all and just sleeping there during a trade show, the agent agreed to waive the entire amount - but that was not correct on my invoice, so accounting is adjusting it, but they did reiterate for future visits, only 50% is waived

4. overall impression - the staff here are excellent, the resort is clean and well maintained, however the rooms, bathrooms and overall facilities are somewhat dated and in need of a refresh - and it's time to lose that Saharan motif

5. location - my morning commutes to the Strip took about 35 minutes on average, so while it's not the ideal location if you need to be on the Strip at specific times, the cost savings can make it a very worthwhile option to consider

I stayed recently and one of the front desk folks reported that the hotel will be completely refurbished in 2017 to look more like a typical Westin. The sahara motif will be gone, and it will have, as she put it "earth colors".
That's kind of a shame in my opinion, because it's one of the charms of the place. I don't remember if she said the entire hotel will close down or if they will stagger things.

I've stayed 5-6 times in recent years and as a plat always been upgraded to a lake view. Maybe half the times, I have been upgraded to a suite.

I've had mixed success getting the resort fee waived. This most recent time, the person said she would remove it, but on check out, it was just cut in half. I didn't push it. I don't think I have ever been offered the 500 points and breakfast, but once I was the "guest of the day", and a result I think I got 2,500 points and breakfast.
