The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort, NV [Master Thread]

It seems that "Loews Lake Las Vegas" is changing flags to the Westin.

Nice addition to LV. Now it's time to head for a new property in the strip.

I am always happy to see new SPG properties however,,, This location is so far removed from the Las Vegas most visitors/convention attendees want to experience that it should be named something else.

I have stayed at this property-long long ago and I would never think to stay there again except as a get away from Las Vegas.

It is a VERY nice property.

Thanks for the heads up Ehud!

google maps has this property 20 minutes away from Las Vegas. I just checked the website and it's definitely a WOW type of property. Let's see if the service levels matches that.

Just an aside...Hilton just picked up the Planet Hollywood Westgate Tower adding another HH option in LV. Just don't get that *W can't get their act together on the strip.

Completely and totally agree... I have a 120k Starpoints set aside for my vacation this summer, and I'd really love to go back to Vegas, but don't really want to stay off the strip. A Cat6 Strip property would be perfect for me.

Great news! This property used to be a Hyatt before Loews.

Trust me-It can be a very long 20 minutes
It is a nice property. I just would not want folks thinking that this is anywhere near The Strip.
I have often(in the past) stayed at the JW Marriott in Summerlin. And I am a frequent guest to the Element in Summerlin. these seem to take less time to get to than Lake Las Vegas. But I still advise folks that they would not be my first choice for those wishing for a "Vegas Vacation"

That's true and I'm not suggesting anyone to go there if they want a vegas vacation but for those who wish to go to enjoy vegas and at the same time get away from the hustle and bustle afterwards, this property would not be a bad spot.

It is a pretty nice place, but Lake LV has been absolutely dead for a few years. Do they even have a casino out there anymore? I see they are opening as SPG cat 3 but I bet the room rates will be close to zero come July/August. I will probably check it out as an SPG plat but yes, LV needs a high end SPG hotel on the strip.

There s $22 a day! Resort Fee which neither The Hyatt or Loews charged, and of cause it doesnt get a Plat anything they wouldnt have gotten anyway. OK free local calls and free parking which till now was free anyway

This place is going on my Do Not Stay List

i thnk it is extremely deceptive that they don't mention this in the rate details. of course they say "estimated" charges but there's still no excuse. they should really add one more line to the below to say: resort fee: $22.00

Room rate: USD 139.00
Room rate excludes the following:
Occupancy Tax: USD 16.68
12.00 % Per Room / Per Night
Estimated total: USD 155.68

this is just like the rip-off "fuel surcharge" that airlines charge. it's a cost. put it in the rates. do restaurants charge a "cutlery surcharge" because they put a fork and knife on your table?
