Any updates on lounge redesign? From searching online, it said the SN lounges would be redone "by 2014".

Not finished but things seem to be moving: last week I was there, the central reception (at the top op of the escalator, before entering the hallway to the Diamond and Brussels Airlines lounges) was gone, together with the access gates. If this has got nothing to do with the new lounge, somebody must have finally understood that it served no use, as access is checked again when entering the lounges proper.

And actually, it doesn't say "by 2014" but "somewhere in 2014" so 11 months to go...

Thanks Ghentleman. There are actually about 15 different articles about this, and some do indeed say "by 2014". See, e.g., http://www.starallianceemployees.com...html?tx_ttnews[backPid]=28

Hmm, well... the official press release even says "The new lounges will be ready by in the course of 2014."
So, wait and see...

Thanks (for your sarcasm).
I asked SN, the answer is: we don't have firm dates yet, but will be in Q4 2014.

Do people recommend the Sunrise Lounge or SN lounge in Terminal B for shower/breakfast after overnight from US (en route to Africa)?

If your Africa-bound flight is leaving from a T-Gate (which it most probably will) then the Sunrise lounge is probably your best bet. Food is the same but the Sunrise lounge is bigger and in better shape than the B Lounge.
You will also be close to the departure gate so no stress to make it in time.
After the bus transfer from B to T you could try getting into the A-zone (passport permitting) and go to the Loft but this is a long trek and reports about accessing the A zone without a BP to a Schengen country have been negative. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Reviving this thread because it seems on point.

We will have a 2 hour layover in Brussels, arriving from a Schengen country (on SN) but departing to the United States (on UA business class). Can anyone let me know what the lounge options would be? Is it just the Suite?

Yes. There's some information in the LH forum about it.

Link to the thread? Arriving in A you should be allowed access to the Loft in A before you move to B.

Yes-- that's what I was told. Thanks to all.

p.s. any advice on how long to leave to get from the Loft to gate in Terminal B would be welcome

Leave the loft 45 minutes before boarding, go to gate, figure out whether you have to do additional screening, if not go to the lounge.
