So i have been ticketed a J class on 9th before the devaluation on 23 March.

but my preference is to actually fly on the 8th (a day earlier), which I have already waitlisted myself on the same J class.

If the 8th becomes available, what are the costs involved?

Date changes within the validity of the ticket cost nothing. You'd be fine.

SFO-HKG does not have YQ, this route is expensive now , before was only 71K + $43 USD only for F .

I had a waitlist LAX-ICN-SIN clear today for January. Call center said they could cancel my existing PE booking and redposit the miles immediately but said I had insufficient miles and the new cost was 88k miles. It was still showing 68k online and it was 9pm LA time on the 22nd. Agent told me to confirm the flight online and I did for the original 68k Miles.

Big sigh of relief. And big surprise to have a waitlist clear that early.

I had quite a few wait lists for later this summer, and they all cleared this morning. I was wondering what that was about when they all started coming through, but of course now that makes sense

What determines a re-issue? If you change the date on the same route there is no reissue? If so that is great.

But is the ticket valid one day earlier than original date of travel?

19. All award tickets are valid for twelve months from the date of the first flight as ticketed, unless otherwise specified.

From the few agents I have spoken to about this, if you keep the class of travel and route the same, and only changing the date and/or flight number, there won't be a reissue triggering extra miles.

within ticket validity:

change date, change flight time, same route, same class - REVALIDATE
change class, change route - REISSUE

REVALIDATE - no fees
REISSUE - based on present rules, i. e. more miles , no 15% off and no YQ

this devaluation is definitely better for miles rich folks.

Another good thing I am seeing is that I see more availability in J and F now. Wonder if this will last.

Hello all
Now that the Krisflyer award redemption changes have occured, does anyone know how SQ will handle those wanting to make changes to tickets originally issued under the old lower award levels with the fuel surcharges. Date changes should be simple enough but route changes I suspect could be more complicated. I issued a ticket out of ZRH but am really hoping to fly out of CDG and am watilisted..

As mentioned, pretty much anything involving HKG. SIN-HKG itself is a pure devaluation. There was never YQ.

I thought Japan routes had yq . For example. Sin to Tokyo had yq of 90sgd. But the additional miles required is 18000
