Details to be advised, but discussion now open.
Dave
Preferred dates, and so on please.
I am thinking that we could combine it with either a Broncos game or a Lions game.
Only problem is that the AFL and NRL won't release the draw until probably October this year.
Otherwise, we could ignore this, and just see what happens.
OR, we could combine the AGM with OzFest 2009.
Opinions please.

The traditionalists would say BNE - and I'm comfortable with that. Other than that, I'd also be happy with any other QP which will happily accept us! As for combining it with a game - no opinion - don't care.

The only call I'll make is for combining it with an AFL/NRL game.
I live under a rock on this stuff: does the season even start when we normally have the AGM?
In any case, I'm fairly apathetic on the issue. I'd only become defensive if we were forced to join the ravenous AFL "cheer squads" (you know which ones I'm talking about: camping out near the goals; scarves, banners, beanies, war paint and such.)

The AGM has always been in February. Are there any AFL/NRL games played in Feb?

Soccer or Basketball or Cricket are the only real sporting choices in February.

Originally, the FT AGM had was held on February 21st, then the 24th. More recently it has been noted by the organiser(s) that a Saturday is better.
I suggest Saturday February 21st 2009.

Some history:
- Here's numero uno #A: FT meeting - BNE QC, 21 Feb, 2.30pm onwards
- & Numero uno #b: FT meeting - BNE QC, 21 Feb, 2.30pm onwards Part 2.
- And a momentous follow up: New FT designations for QF status.
- And as to the roots of this all: Qantas Club Bar
- 2nd Annual BNE QP meeting
- 3rd BNE QP FlyerTalkers AGM
- 4th BNE FlyerTalkers AGM, ~ late Feb 06
- 5th Annual FT AGM, BNE QP, 24 Feb 07
- 6th Annual FT AGM, BNE QP, Saturday 23 Feb 2008

I can take or leave the game, I'd prefer somewhere with cage dancers.
Dates open, but a Saturday is always easier for me - any State will do. The OzFest combination makes a lot of sense.

I don't mind when it is, but February worked. We won't be able to get an NRL or AFL match though.
Whilst some will argue BNE will always be the home of the AGM, I wouldn't mind a desitination which allows for INT First Class Lounge access again.

I was quite happy with this year's (though it would be appreciated if the organisers could arrange for something a little under 40 degrees next time ).
I would leave the AGM and Ozfest as 2 separate functions on different dates, with a reasonable separation as is now the case. BNE was fine, though not averse to going elsewhere if that's what people want. For me, it's an opportunity to slip off somewhere else for the day/weekend.
For BNE residents, well, you may be happy keeping it there, or some of you may like to travel to an AGM for a change...let us know!
Oh, and a QP with a proven friendly track record (as is currently the case) is also handy!
