Flyertalk has bettered my travel experience, but ruined my life
Dear Fellow AAddicts,
As I look at my computer screen with blood-shot eyes, with a smattering of RedBull cans and a pile of library books strewn around my desk, I just wanted to share with the vibrant community my thanks for all of the great tips I've picked up about American Airlines over the last several months. My travel experiences are now faster, better, and generally on leather seats...all thanks to flyertalk.
But at what cost? I'm in the midst of final exams, and instead of studying Mandarin or working on a paper about economic integration, I'm reading about the menu choices for BOS-LAX, a route which I have absolutely no reason to fly. Why do I care about RDU? I don't; I've never been there nor do I plan on going. I have no eVIPs with which to upgrade, and yet I am fascinated by the nuances of EXPs' tactics. Even writing this post is making me feel better, although it is taking away from valuable review time.
Thus, to pose a question for the more philosophically inclined members, can anyone tell me why?

This is really a 25,000 - 50,000 - 100,000 mile group, but we take it one flight at a time.
Great grist for TravelBuzz. Please follow this thread over there.

49 posts in two months, and you think your life is a mess? You don't know the half of it.
See you in OMNI in...about late July, I'd say.

can't explain why...but i've also learned a great deal...and, like you, instead of studying for my polysci final tomorrow, here i am sitting in th library on FT. during class? on FT. writing papers? taking breaks and checking FT. weekends? spent chasing "bonus" miles, renting cars, buying flowers to earn miles.............
i don't know where you go to school, but apparently its at a school on quarters, as well?
