My travel experiences are now faster, better, and generally on leather seats...all thanks to flyertalk.

But at what cost? I'm in the midst of final exams, and instead of studying Mandarin or working on a paper about economic integration, I'm reading about the menu choices for BOS-LAX, a route which I have absolutely no reason to fly. Why do I care about RDU? I don't; I've never been there nor do I plan on going. I have no eVIPs with which to upgrade, and yet I am fascinated by the nuances of EXPs' tactics. Even writing this post is making me feel better, although it is taking away from valuable review time.

Thus, to pose a question for the more philosophically inclined members, can anyone tell me why?
May I echo a hear hear but say I subscribed to expertflyer.com? Of course, I was too stupid to figure out what all the codes on expertflyer.com meant but I can't tell you how indebted I am to this web site. And the idea of doing a MR to FRA would have seen absolutely crazy to me until I twice out of two trips dealt with ir-ops at DFW and saw how wonderful being a challenged gold is and then just got totally freaking addicted to this web site...and now my goal is to be a true gold and post here more
