Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) or 2008 Miles Roll Call
Plagiarizing this from the DL board (thanks, indufan):
In a few hours:
YTD Elite Qualifying Points: 0
YTD Elite Qualifying Miles: 0
YTD Elite Qualifying Segments: 0
Gonna have me a TALL mountain to climb!
(I normally hate threads of this type, but I'm working, bored and alone on New Year's Eve.)

Happy New Year, my friend!
[Don't the rest of you get any ideas that vasantn and I are gonna be any nicer in 2008, cause it's just not gonna happen.]

I guess the PLs and AGs are better off than we are. Their miles towards upgrades don't reset for another two months.

I'm going to try very hard to be nice tomorrow. Not just on FT, but to everyone I interact with. This will quickly exhaust my 2008 niceness quota and then I can go back to being me!
I'm seriously impressed. Would you care to share your itinerary?

AiEEEE! Where did my miles go? Oh, those are only year to date EQM / EQP?
Some people are out on the street - or even watching the telly - to see the Big Ball drop. REAL FTers are at their computers at midnight Central to see when the numbers roll over to zeros on their YTD figures.
¡Feliz y próspero año nuevo! And for gosh sake, don't forget the darn tilde...
And, vasantn, look at the bright side - at least this isn't another "Oh, bugger, I am drunk!" thread. Actually, the rest of us can be reassured...

No tilde necessary in Portuguese (which I'm working on learning), so: Feliz e próspero ano novo!
Actually, I'm 75% of the way to being drunk. But if I get there, I promise to post in the existing bugger I am drunk thread (an OMNI classic IMO) and not mess up the rug here.

The dreaded reset ...
After all that work including trips to visit the airport, flying 4 hours to california just to use the bathroom at LAX, trying to convince yourself that spending $1000 on airline tickets knowing full well you won't even smell the air of your destination city is a feasible plan, we all go back to ZERO today.
Well, here's to another year of referring to Dallas as DFW and San Francisco as SFO, sizing up each other's luggage tag (Gold huh, how do you live with yourself), giving the flight attendant the kiss of death when pre-departure drinks are not served, checking in for your flight exactly 24 hours before to ensure your upgrade and failing yet again to have congress enact a law instituting airport floggings for gate lice.
Fasten your seatbelt people, it's going to be a bumpy ride.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Yep, it's a downer. What could be a clearer sign that it's back to work time!

HNY!
I'll continue to refer to Dallas as DAL or Love and DFW as, well, DFW in order to make sure I am reunited with my car after I land.
