Important dates for the Qantas Group - 2006

- 08 JAN - A333 begins flying the Sydney to Mumbai route. Due to range restrictions the outbound flight will operate via Darwin
- 09 JAN - Qantas commences thrice weekly Sydney-Beijing A333 services
- 09 JAN - QantasLink [Sunstate] takes delivery of first Bombardier Q400 - registered VH-QOA
- 12 JAN - Qantas 73H VH-VYI - Delivery into MEL
- 14 JAN - Qantas 73H VH-VYJ - Delivery into MEL
- 16 JAN - Jetstar begins 320 operations into Newcastle. Evening JQ 380 MEL-NTL changes from 717 to 320
- 21 JAN - Qantas 73H VH-VYK - Delivery into MEL
- 28 JAN - Qantas 73H VH-VYL - Delivery into MEL. This is the final 73H to join the QF fleet
- 28 JAN - Qantas suspends daily BNE-AKL-LAX 744 service. It is to be replaced with a daily 763 service which will terminate in AKL. Flight number BNE-AKL - QF 115
- 28 JAN - Qantas begin 744 services MEL-AKL [QF 25]. From Auckland this flight will continue onto to Los Angeles
- 28 JAN - Qantas commences 5th weekly non-stop BNE-LAX service utilising a 2-class 747
February
- 01 FEB - Jetstar commence ADL-BNE services [A320]
- 01 FEB - Jetstar commence ADL-SYD services [A320]
- 04 FEB - Final SYD-PER-JNB 743 flight. And last chance to catch a domestic 743 flight for a while
- 05 FEB - Last Seoul-Brisbane Qantas flight [Seasonal]
- 11 FEB - Qantas commences 5th weekly SYD-JNB 744 service
- 16 FEB - Profit - Half year result announcement
- 26 FEB - Suspension of daily Brisbane to Mackay 734/H service. Will be replaced with a new double daily Q400 [72 seats] service
- 27 FEB - Sydney to New York services from increase from 3 to 5 per week [744 operating via Los Angeles]
March
- 08 MAR - Record date for interim dividend
- 24 MAR - Jetstar suspend thrice weekly Sydney-Mackay service
- 24 MAR - Qantas suspend it's QF15 Perth-Singapore-London Heathrow service.
- 26 MAR - From 26 MARCH onwards, all flights to/from Avalon will be operated by the A320
- 26 MAR - Jetstar introduces an extra Avalon-Adelaide-Avalon flight departing AVV late evening
- 26 MAR - Upgrade from A320 from 717 on BNE-Launceston services. A320 also takes over 717 flights from BNE-TSV
- 26 MAR - BNE-NTL-BNE. 2 out of the 3 return Jetstar flights upgraded to A320. The 3rd flight will remain 717
- 26 MAR - Jetconnect commence thrice weekly 733 Brisbane-Auckland-Brisbane flights
- 26 MAR - Qantas commences MEL-HKG-LHR flights (QF29/30) utilising 3 class B744
- 27 MAR - Jetstar commences 320 services ADL-Sunshine Coast
- 27 MAR - Jetconnect begin operations on the Adelaide-Auckland vv route. Qantas will suspend their thrice weekly 73H service.
- 28 MAR - Jetstar begin daily Melbourne Avalon - Perth flights [A320]
- 28 MAR - Jetstar commences Melbourne-Ballina Byron A320 services
- 29 MAR - Introduction of Adelaide to Hamilton Island flights. Operated by Jetstar with the A320
- 29 MAR - Qantas begins Sydney to San Francisco 3-Class 744 flights. They will operate thrice weekly
April
- 01 APR - QantasLink suspends weekend ASP-BME-ASP BAe146 flights
- 01 APR - Final QF 737 service Brisbane-Mackay-Brisbane
- 02 APR - QantasLink re-commence Brisbane-Canberra-Brisbane services utilising the latest Bombardier Q400.
- 02 APR - Qantas changes aircraft on Perth-Tokyo. The 763 will now be deployed on this route in lieu of the A333.
- 02 APR - Qantas commences thrice weekly Sydney - Tokyo A333 services. The remaining services will be be operated by 747-300s
- 05 APR - Interim dividend payable
May
- 01 MAY - Jetstar begin 6 weekly Melbourne - Darwin flights [A320][JQ will go daily later on]
- 01 MAY - Jetstar commences twice weekly Adelaide-Darwin A320 flights
- 01 MAY - Jetstar commences 6 weekly Brisbane-Darwin A320 flights
June
- 14 JUN - Qantas commences Sydney to Vancouver flights via San Francisco. Flights are seasonal and operate 14 JUN to 13 AUG

- 17 AUG - Preliminary final result announcement

Added a few more dates/events/flights, including JQ commencing BNE/ADL/MEL-DRW and other services, Jetconnect BNE-AKL and ADL-AKL and suspension of PER-LHR via SIN.
