Now showing 30 minutes late.
The Cairns flight QF591 is still showing on time.
Whoever was going to miss the original flight just might make it.

Hi all Ft'ers,

Well, I'm here at BNE QC (2pm local BNE time) and have spoken to NM by mobile (cellphone) - he, og, thadocta and ozstamps were there - as we were talking kpc turned up, so I hope they all get on QF532 (as it is running 35 mins late anyway).

Waiting for Willyroo and BundyBear to turn up; then IainF from CNS.

Maybe we'll get on line together (some will no doubt have laptops and we have 3 desktops here) and maybe do a worldwide gabfest. Pity that it will be middle of the night in UK/Europe - maybe some of you US based FT'ers will post in.

Should have brought a camera to mark the historic occasion so we can post to an external website and you could "meet" us all.

Being a devout Quaker I do not drink alcohol, so I am now - as always, 100% sober. I was pretty lucky actually as the first flight was delayed about an hour meaning the other lushes needed to just keep on drinking. Rather their livers get ruined and NOT mine.

I poured myself a glass or two of Champagne after kpc departed ..... just done to sit and watch and count the bubbles. The SECOND glass had more I deduced. No other reason you understand.

In that nirvanic state, I wish to report that FOUR FT'ers have recently departed on the large red and white Boeing birds to BNE.

'May the Lord have mercy on their souls' for when they hit the bar up there.

Well, we are all here now at BNE QC. Following a 60 min delay from SYD of QF532 we did arrive. Thadocta managed to score a free beer for the flight being an hour late while the rest of us had to wait until we hit the BNE bar for the next beer.

Glen, good to meet you for the pre-session.

Now, where is the next session going to be?

Guys - its 19:00 in BNE - and yet no minutes posted from the meeting. You must be having longer deliberations than Shane Warne's executioners...

Michael, that's because we are still boozing at QC expense. The share price will have dropped on Monday when they check the stocks - particularly HAhn Premium for those that aren't driving.

Dave, Willyroo and I are sitting typing away side-by-side in the QCBus Centre on their computers.

We have agreed that:

1. This should be a regular event, not just in BNE but perhaps SYD, MEL, elsewhere
2. It wasa great deal of fun to meet others from FT. We have a lot of stories and over a Hahn or 3, enjoy sharing them
3. We have agreed upon a special code...

Well, I suppose we will conclude at some stage...probably around 9pm when the last flight leaves.

Ummm ummm minutes - it's been many Hahns, and many Crownies.

Sitting next to me is LW and thadocta trying to keep this topic off-track.

Now to to the minutes:

Meeting opened at 14:30.

LW appointed chairman.

Business:

* QF 532 1 hour late - time for a beer
* QF 532 still late - time for another beer
* BundyBear, LW, willyroo, johnsyd2000 and IanF finalising meeting.
* QF532 arrives - meeting adjourned to QF Bar
* NM, og, kpc, thadocta, arrive from QF 532.
* Meeting proper commences - the group immediately goes off-topic.
* Meeting adjourned to FT corner in BNE QC.

Meeting still active 19:30, willyroo surprised at multiple syllable words still working!!

Cheers all - make sure you join us for the next one...

Dear BNE QF SG and WP talkers (and low scum nothings),

my flight home was right on time inspite of the crap that was delivered on the outbound flight about everything out of SYD being delayed by the light rain. I must say that the Tooheys New was not a patch on the Hahn in the QC. The pretend dinner in a box was also exactly the same as the other 10,000 versions of it that were made (somewhere).

Happy evening guys, and thanks LW for the pulling this together.

Great catching up with you guys. And nice meeting the man who got me a free bottle of wine next time I stay at the Hilton.

Hey ... I DID email you all of you a few months back suggesting we organise something along these lines.

Not imagining QF would be springing for the 16 Hahns ..... that bit was VERY clever.

Roll on the the next meeting .............
