Virgin Atlantic Upper class photo report JFK-LHR

We recently did a one-way with Virgin Atlantic in Upper class (aka business class) and can make a few observations. Our flight left at 6:30 PM and was not a designated "snooze zone" flight.

The JFK lounge is nicely done architecturally and the food is VERY good. Much better than that on the plane. They had a nice choice of items icluding salads, soups, mains, and sweets. There was a full bar as well.

The music in the lounge is too loud and a bit tacky for the crowd. I think this is the lastest bad teen-age music, maybe? Most of the people in the lounge were in the mid-40s to 60s range, so I didn't really understand their music choice. I think they leave it up to the waitstaff to decide? It was pretty bad.

The seat is a tad cramped at the sides for people with wide shoulders (including me) and leans back only about 3 inches, but the leather is comfortable and the lighting system is very relaxing. The AVOD is very good with a good choice overall.

Next time you should ask if you can take a picture with her and say its something you do on every flight as a momento. Or you could say you only do it with the nicest FAs for more points!

I could do but I'm not so sure my wife seated next to me would be thrilled with it!

Nice TR, I flew VS UC myself from LON - NYC. I went out on 45, came back on 10.

However, may I ask how you got that breakfast? By my deduction you shouldn't have been able to, as the menu below should have been offered. Well done!

Garden vegetable quiche with fried green tomatoes and a tomato wine sauce
Seared flat iron steak with a herb demi-glace in a green bean and mushroom ragout served with a potato cake (VS 16, 28, 44, 74, 76 only)
Sole roulade with crab mousse and lobster sauce served with saffron rice and creamed spinach (Not on VS 16, 28, 44, 74, 76) I deduced you had this?

Thanks for posting the menu! Hope you enjoyed the bed.
We were on flight number 4, which left at 6:25 PM.

You're correct - the English breakfast was NOT listed in the menu. I asked if they had it, and out in came in about 5 minutes. That is odd, isn't it?
