Per the Qantas site mentioned above, it says the last B744 will be retrofitted by October 2012. I am on QF 8 (DFW-SYD) in December 2012 and am booked now in Business Class on Row 17 in upper level (747-400ER); however, per the new retrofitted 747 seat map, there does not seem to be a Row 17 on the upper level. Is it possible this route may not be used exclusively by reconfigured 747s, or is it common for the flight seat maps to update later?
Many thanks.
Many thanks.
I would however expect to see a 2xdaily A380 between SYD and LAX once the 2 additional aircraft (#13 and #14) are delivered.

I'm on QF8 on 30-May. Up until today it was a 4 class flight being sold as 3 class. Today it's been switched to a reconfigured plane. I had been in seat 4E and Qantas moved me to seat 3F. Seatguru doesn't have any comments on the reconfigured planes. As a single flyer would I be better off in seat 5B? There doesn't appear to be a seat 5A.
Many thanks for the advice.

Well that seat is popular with the single travellers. The extra legroom is good, there is extra storage. But you do get traffic from people standing near the doors to stretch thier legs and it is hard to see out the windows.

3F should be one of the best seats in the plane! (3E the other)
(You are in the more private Zone A and no PAX has to climb past another to access the aisle.)
Enjoy is my recommendation.

Does anyone know, on the new 747 config, if 16J/16K (upper deck last row) would be better than 3A/3B or anything else on bottom level? Thanks.

As I keep posting; 3E/F would be the equivalent of 4E/F in the old zone, either old 2, 3 or 4 class.
Really, with Skybed Mk 2 there's plenty of space to get in/out.
3E/F would be the best for anyone and for couples, 14A/B & 14J/K.
